Planting Mangrove
I was in second grade of senior high school when I planted mangrove together with some friends of mine in Mangkang Seashore. It was the event from one of the biggest cigarette company for environment homage.
We, I and my friends departed from our senior high school at seven in the morning and went there by a car. For almost two hours riding, we arrived at Mangkang Seashore. There, I could meet everyone from another school, and even from another country. Some of them came from Japan, Australia and Netherland.
At first, we were gathered to get some information about planting mangrove from the committees. Here, we got a lot of information on how to plant mangrove well and anything about mangrove itself. After getting some of information, we were divided into some groups which consist of ten people. So, all of participants were divided into ten groups and given one hundred seed for each group. Then, we went to the main area and started to plant. It took approximately one until two hours to finish all of those seed.
When planting mangrove has been done, we took a break and had lunch together. While having a break time, we took some pictures with the other participants. Next, the event was filled by some educational activities. There were some of game about mangrove, watching movie, and a show on how to make souvenir from mangrove, from its leaves, seed, and the stem.
In the afternoon, while enjoying the sunset, we played some game to make us be more closed each other. And the last, about six in the afternoon the event was closed by took picture together with all of the participants that day.
It was the great experience of planting mangrove I ever had.
