ENGLISH PRIVATE TEACHER

I was in the third semester when one of my friends offered me to join in LBB (lembaga bimbingan belajar) where she worked. I was offered as English private teacher because I am English department student. I was really interested to be a private teacher, so I accepted her offer.

My first student was in the seventh years of junior high school. Her name is Tiara. It was my first duty, so I was nervous when I had to teach her. From my first impression, she was lazy because she always griped when we were studying. However, after five or six meeting, I could see that she had big interest in English. She tried to develop her ability from watching movies or listening music. Therefore, I did not have any difficulty to teach her.

After I was Tiara’s English private teacher, the owner of LBB offered me to take more students. My new students were sibling. The older sister is Dita and the younger sister is Ita. Dita was tenth years of senior high school student. Ita was fifth years of elementary school student. Actually, their father wanted me to teach the older one, but the younger one had strong desire to learn English, as a result I had to teach both of them. Since I had another activity, I could not teach them again.

I was still tiara’s teacher but not anymore with Dita and Ita. After that,I had another additional student. Her name is Hesti, She was also seventh years of junior high school student. I rarely taught her because she was busy student, she had a lot of activities. In my opinion, she had not strong interest to learn English. She was interested in Indonesian literature and she had read a poem in Indonesian language at Istana Merdeka.

When I was in the middle of forth semester, I thought that I could not do as private teacher and student at the same time. Therefore, I decided to resign as teacher.

One day, his father passed away. Price Jackop had to take the place of King Hendry. Actually, He was not ready to lead that city. He was arrogant and greedy, he did not think that his citizen was important to his country. He did everything to fulfill his desire. He had ten wives and thirty children. He made a golf field to realize his hobby. The most horrible think that he cut down the trees in the forest near the town to cover outcome that was made to built the golf field.

One day, Dryads came to the castle to revenge because their house had been destroyed by Prince of Mandrakarsa. They gave him a curse. Dryad “your families and your follower will be mangrove tree to conserve our house that had been destroyed by you”. Prince Jackop “ it is impossible, you does not have any strange. I have power to this country. I can do everything to fulfill my desire”. Sudently, the thunder storm was coming, everything in this country was destroyed by it, included his vanity. At the end, Jackop and his follower became mangrove forest that we know it can hold back abrasion.

From this story, we can take conclusion that nature has to be conserved, if not, it can be disaster. Another conclusions is we have to be wise and not arrogant.

AVICENNIA MARINA

Avicennia marina has order lamiales, family Acanthaceae, and genus Avicennia. It is commonly known as grey mangrove or white mangrove.

This mangrove is distributed along the east coast of Africa, southwest Asia, throughout south and south-east Asia and into Australia. It also occurs in New Zealand. Grey mangrove grows as a shrub or tree to a height of three to ten meters, or up to 14 meters in tropical regions. The habit is a gnarled arrangement of multiple branches. It has smooth light-grey bark made up of thin, stiff, brittle flakes. The leaves are thick, five to eight centimeters long, a bright, glossy green on the upper surface. It has aerial roots, these grow to a height of about 20 centimeters, and diameter of one centimeter. These allow the plant to absorb oxygen which is deficient in its habitat. The flowers range from white to a golden yellow, are less than a centimeter across and occur in clusters of three to five. The fruit contains large cotyledons that surround the new stem of a seedling.
