Review of Samudera Hati


Samudera Hati is an islamic novel by the woman author An’amah Ana FM. It was first published in 2007. this novel contains 297 pages. Samudera Hati is real-life fiction that explores love, custom and religion in telling love story of Salma and Mahbub, her husband.

The plot is this, Salma has a father who believes in the custom on his region. This custom is often out of the religion. Whereas, Salma falls in love with Mahbub, an ordinary man who is so religious. He does not believe in the custom in his region. Salma’s father becomes angry and forbides Salma to make a relationship with Mahbub. Their power of love is so strong. They finally get married without the agreement of Salma’s father. At last, Salma’s father gets a serious illness and he is aware of his mistakes. Told in the third person Samudera Hati is a well paced story told in a flash back thought-provoking way.

Samudera Hati is a religious novel with believable characters and a plot that keeps the reader’s interest. Its story is so touching so that it will make you cry. Its massage of the power of love makes this can be sutitable book for teenage readers.
