Narrative " The Legend Of Surabaya"

A long time ago, in East Java, there were two strong animal, a shark named Sura and a crocodile named Baya. They were friend and lived together in the deep blue sea. However, they were very greedy when they were hungry.

One day, at the same time, Sura and Baya were looking for some food. All of a sudden, Baya saw a goat. Since Sura had not eaten for two days, he wanted yo get that goat. As a result, he fought with Baya. After fought for several hours, they felt very tired. Then, Sura got an idea. "Let's share our territory. I live in the water, so I look for food in the sea. You live on the land and look for food on the land. The border is beach. Do you agree?" Baya thought for a while, "I agree, I will never go to the sea again"said Baya.

In the very hot day, Sura broke the promise. He was very hungry and looked for some food in the river because there was not much food in the sea. Baya was very angry when he knew it. Therefore, Sura and Baya fought again. They both hit each other.

Finally, Sura got an injury and he gave up, went back to the sea. Baya had his place again. The place where they were fighting was mess of blood. At last, people named that place as Surabaya and put their fight as the symbol of Surabaya.
