REVIEW SI DOEL ANAK BETAWI

It is a 1972 film which story about love-life grief Doel, an indigenous Betawi children. Doel starred by Rano Karno as a child. It's all about Doel' happiness and sadness, a child who are looking for a father figure (after the widowed father), against the hardest of life (he must help his mother sell cakes for a living), to deal with naughty kids pressures recorded properly. Si Doel Anak Betawi as a children's film which may be regarded as successful like Katalog Indonesia said. Cheerful atmosphere of the novel could be diverted to the movies. "At the end of the film, emphasizing Sjuman if Doel school-as a message to break the the assumption that the Betawi children are not formally educated.

Like the most of Indonesia's film, the character in this film is the flat character because tehy don't have change of characteristic along the film. The meaning of events that occure in this film are not be an individual conflict but it is a social reflection in around them. That is precisely the portrait of the growing of Batavia society to the moder era. As a social portrait, it becomes a hard film. Although in this film there are song, fighting, and playing, Si Doel has to understand adulthood aroud him.
