Dear Nina,

Last holiday, My senior high school's friends and I went to Solo by motorcycle from Semarang. We left on Friday. We stayed at my bestfriend's house at Mojosongo. Her house is near from Sebelas Maret University or UNS. It was rain. I was lost when I tried to find her house but finally I arrived there wetly.

At night, my friend who studies at UNS came to house which we stayed in. After that we visited hek. Hek is word to describe place likes "kucingan". In there, we ate gorengan which was roasted. After we finished, we continued our journey to Manahan. Manahan is sport center square. Usually, it is used for football match and sunday morning market.

Next day, we visited Solo Grand Mall. It is located at Slamet Riyadi street. it is one of big malls in that city. We rode motorcycle to get there.

On Sunday, we had planning to go to Yogyakarta by train. We left from Purwosari and arrived at Tugu train station. Because it was crowded, we didn't get seat. Tugu train station is located near from Malioboro. Then, we had shopping at Malioboro and Bringharjo traditional market. In there we can find batik, shoes, bag, and handicrafts from Yogyakarta. We left at 3 p.m. and arrived at Solo at 4 p.m.. Finally, we came back to Semarang at night.

It was beautiful moment with my bestfriends. It was fun. we promised to come back there someday.

Traveling to Ungaran

Last week all of EGP’ers had to go to Ungaran Mountain for the requirement of EGP’s members. EGP was one of campus activity which is focused on activity that related with nature.

On this occasion we tried to climbed Ungaran Mountain together. Before we going to the mountain, firstly the EGP’ers met in B3 park to checked the participant and the logistic. We had to checked it because of safety. We always paid attention with safety, because the place that we came was dangerous place.

After checking all of thing, we went to the mountain together. We tried to go on foot, because it was one of the physical train. We saw many beautiful sceneries on all day long. There is tea garden, waterfall, beautiful farm, etc.

Finally we got to the mountain, it was very amazing. Over there we saw a hidden waterfall and we took arrest. We were exhausted but we didn’t felt that because we enjoyed it and that was a very fantastic trip.

MY DAY IN SEMIRANG WATERFALL

On Sunday, I and my best friend, Sari, visited Semirang Waterfall in Ungaran. It was the first time for me to visit the waterfall.

When we arrived at the hill, I felt so fresh and I could enjoy the scene. The air was so pure and all I could see only green and green.

In Ungaran, we took a little bit trekking to find Semirang Waterfall. It was too bad for me because the distance to see the waterfall was too far.

After taking so far distance, we found Semirang Waterfall. What a beautiful waterfall. We enjoyed the nice water in the rain forest surrounding the waterfall.

Hearing the sound of falling water made me peace and relax. It was also excellent drowning out background sound. Playing with the water made me feel so happy.

Finally, the time was over. It was time for us to go home. It was an unforgettable moment. I really enjoyed it.

And then,on Sunday Nisa and I saw Mount Batok and went on the scenic ride on horseback. It was scary. After that, we went to get a closer look at the mountain. We took pictures of the beautiful sceneries there.
In the next day,it was Monday. We went to the zoo at Wonokromo. We saw cockatoos having a shower. In the afternoon I went home.
It was fun journey.

My Unforgetable Childhood

When I was elementary student, I used to go shopping with my mom. One day we went to a traditional market near Grandma's house. It was so crowded, we couldn't go inside so we waited in front of a little shop. I thought mom would enter that shop, I ran into the shop and played toys there. After a few minutes I realized that I was alone. I started to cry and the shopkeeper came to me. She asked what I cried for, after that she pointed a woman outside the door. I recognized that the woman was my mom. I ran to her and she smiled at me. After thanked to the shopkeeper we went home.
That was my funniest day with my mom when I was childhood, I'll never forget it.

Dear Mom and Dad,
It has been long time not see you. I have a story for you. Last holiday, I went to police office to make my driving license.
Firstly, I went to the police office and registered to get the registration form. I filled it with my name and other identity before giving it back to the officer.
Second, I had to wait for the first test, the practical test. In this test, I had to ride motorcycle in right way. I felt a litle bit nervous when I did this test.
Third, I waited for the second test, theoretical test. I had to answer 30 questions about how to ride motorcycle according the rule. I had to do correctly minimum 18 questions to pass this test.
Then, the time for taking photo for my driving license. I came to a room to take photo and gave signature to it.
After than, I went to waiting room. I waited for my driving license which was being printed by the officer. A policewoman called my name and gave my driving license.
Now I own my own driving after having long process to make it. That’s all my story for you and I wait for your amazing story in your reply

Sincerely yours,
Deni

MY HOLIDAY IN JOGJA

Nine months ago, my family and I went to Parangtritis Beach near our uncle’s house in Jogya. The day was sunny and hot, of course. It was on June. That’s why the day was very bright. It’s about 10 minutes to get Parangtritis on foot from my uncle’s house. There was many people at the beach. Most of them were teenagers.
The view was so beautiful. We were having fun in there. My brother built a sand castle. He had to rebuilt twice before it really stood up. The first attempt failed because he built it to close to the water, and the second attempt, the successful one, was just right.
The spot he chose was not too close to the water and the mixture was good.
Our parent loved his work. Some people who passed his castle loved it too.
They even took picture near his castle.
It was a wonderful holiday in Jogja.

My Worst Day, Iwan Darmawan. 2250408004

I had a bad day when I was riding my motorcycle from Cilacap to Semarang.
When I first arrived at the Banyumas, it rained. I got rained on and had to wait an hour until the rain stopped. When I reached in Wonosobo, my motorcycle suddenly jammed. I did not know what I have to do. Nearly half an hour I set my bike. Lucky when I tried to switch it on, my motorcycle worked again.
And then, when I arrived at the Sumowono, police officer hampered the pace of my bike. I got a ticket and ordered to pay fifty thousand dollars because my motorcycle's license plates violated the applicable rules.
And at the end of misfortune, when I arrived at the mountain starch, my bike died completely. I waited almost an hour. Until suddenly dating someone help me. He advised me to take my bike to the nearest garage. He also helped push my bike hard all the way to the garage and eventually repaired.
The day was truly the worst day for me.

My Horrible Experience
One night, I went to minimarket to get cigarettes. I bought two packs of cigarettes and the cashier told me Rp 20.000, -. I got a little mad and asked him why it cost so much. I finally gave up and asked for two of the cheapest packs (Rp 12.000,-). I left the store pissed that I bought two packs of crappy cigarettes for the same price as regular cigarettes back home. When I got outside of the store I gave a pack to my roommate, all of the sudden the clerk came running outside and told me to stop and started off towards a cop. Not knowing at the time he was talking to me we walked away. When we got back to the station I went out for a cigarette. While smoking a cop came up to me, this is when all the trouble began. The cop started to put me in handcuffs, I freaked out and asked him what I was being charged with and fought back. He told me he didn't have to tell me, I assured him he did. Then he hit me in the leg until I fell to the ground. They started ask me what my name was, and I started ask them what I was being accused of. This went on for thirty minutes or so until 2 more officers showed up. One of the new officers asked if I had been drinking, I said no. New officer said "I can smell it on your breath.' I responded "I never got one." Because of that, they told me they were taking me to jail. When I got to jail they had to drag me inside because I could not keep up with how fast they walked. Before I was processed. They had to make a list of all my stuff and get me to sign for it. Everything was there but my cigs, and my lighter. I was processed and allowed to make a phone call every hour until I could reach someone to bail me out. Seeing as how I didn't know anyone in that area, I couldn't get bailed out for a while. Close to 24 hours after I was put in jail I was released. No one had bailed me out I was just released. My roommate came and got me and told me why I was release, but until now, I don’t understand why I was being charged and why I was released

A Page from a Girl’s Diary

It was takbiran night. It was also my birthday, and nothing happened. Or I had thought nothing would happen, but I was wrong.

That night, I was watching television with my family when I heard someone lit fireworks in my front yard. I peeped trough my window glass but could see nothing. It was very dark outside. Then I thought it had to be my cousins who lit the fireworks. Then I plopped down on my sofa again and tried to concentrate on the television since my mind raced with disappointment that no one gave something special on my birthday. I shrugged, it was almost the end of the day and I became pessimist. Five minutes later my mobile beeped. It was a text from my friend asking me to come out. Wondering what was going on, I grabbed my jacket and hurried to the front door. I was surprised to see her bring a bag full of firework and fire drills. Next I was surprised to see my other friend come out from the darkness. She brought a beautiful birthday cake on her hands. Oh my God! I shrieked. Then they gave the cake to me who was too stunned to say anything. I realized I was blushing furiously because my whole family was watching. Not to mention my neighbors too!

A plain day, or I thought it was before, turned out to be one of the greatest moment in my life. I didn’t even know how to describe what I felt. Happy was the simplest word.

My Adventure at Leang Leang Cave

On semester’s holiday, my parents, my best friend Baiu , and I visited a cave at Maros called Leang Leang. It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me.
The cave was famous for its primitive cave wall paintings which were some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surroundings was turned into a national park, so it was taken care of. Baiu and I adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get to the cave, because the cave was embedded into a small mountain. Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground. The guide said that these piles of seahells are called kjokenmoddinger, or kitchen trash. The last place was a museum where they have skeletons of the humans who lived in the caves. The walls of the museum were adorned with photographs taken when they did an excavation there.
After took a rest with Baiu and my parents, we decided it was time to go back home.

A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

I had a wonderful experience, that was when I joined IVED (Indonesian Varsities English Debate) as an observer in ITB. It was a competition held by Indonesian debaters. We joined there with a high expectation.

I went there with four my friends, they were Eni (Chief of EDS), Rian (sixth semester), Afit (Math/sixth semester), and Virgi (sixth semester). Eni, Rian and Afit were Unnes’s debaters, and Virgi as Adjudicator. The competition was held on 16-20 of January. In the journey we were very excited and expected that we would be one of breaking team.

In the first day there was Adjudicators selection. That was for deciding who deserve to be chairs, panels, and trainees. Virgi could pass his target to be panel. Not only that but also all of adjudicators was accredited by Core Adjudicators (CA).

In the second day, we debated along the day, we were exhausted because there were three preliminaries. We were so sad because we just got one victory points (VP) that was when we lost STAN B but we was lost by ITB C and Teknokrat Lampung. The first day finished at 11 p.m

In the third day we tried the best we could and we were happy because we got two VP from three prelims and another was silent prelim. We lost Unsoed, and Atma Jogja and the silent was when met ITB A. We could end the day happier than in the previous day.

In the next day we did city tour, it was a trip to many beautiful places in the city that the competition held. We went to Tangkuban Perahu and Cihampelas, we were so happy because we could get many friends from other university. In the night the committee held break night party, it was like a hardcore and the announcement of the breaking teams and adjudicators was announced. We were surprised because we weren’t one of them, but we had to be sportive.

In the last day was the final and UGM vs ITB C. That was very hot debate ITB was as strong as UGM. All of the speakers did their best and the member of house were also excited. We thought that UGM would be the winner but the result ITB was.

Although we didn’t complete our target like the previous competition, I got many beautiful experiences and knowledge. I felt that I was the lucky one because I was chosen to join this and I hope I could get this again.

My First Experience to Ride Motorcycle

One day, when I was ten years old, my father bought an old motorcycle. That was " Honda 75". I think it was small light object and easy to ride it. I persuaded my father to teach me to ride " Honda 75 ". Firstly, my father refused my request and promised that he would teach me two or three years later, but I still whimpered. Finally, my father surrendered and promised to teach me.
He began to teach me riding the motorcycle around a field in my village. My father was very patient to give me some directions. I was very happy when I realized my ability to ride a motorcycle. " Yes, I can ".
One day later, when I was alone at home, I intended to try my riding ability. So, myself tried bravely. All ran fluently in the beginning, but when I was going back to my home and I must passed through a narrow slippery street, I got nervous. I lost my control and I fell to the ditch.
After that, I told my father about the last accident. I imagined my father would be angry and never let me ride again. But the reality is exactly on the contrary, my father was very proud of me. He just gave me some advices and since that accident, I got my father's permission to ride motorcycle.

A Suprising Day
One day, on March 3,2oo9, I woke up early. I found my house was strange. No one there including my parents and my brothers, Lucky and Rizky. I was so confused where they were.
Then, I walked to the kitchen and what happened?. The door was difficult to open. Because I was so hungry, I still tried to open the door by pushing it hardly.
Finally, the door was opened. I was suprised because all of my family members were there and suddenly sang a birthday song together. My mother brought a big cake which there were two candles “number 1 and 7” on its top. Actually, it was my 17th birthday.
Although there was not a big party to celeberate my 17th birthday, I still felt very happy.

MY HOLIDAY......UNPREDICTABLE BUT FUN

2201408005

It was Sunday, the end of my holiday indeed, when friends of mine suddenly came to my home and picked me up. They told me that we were going to go out of town. That was unpredictable and really surprised me because there was no any confirmation before.
At 9 o’clock in the morning, we departed from my home and realized that the road was very crowded. Then, we decided to take freeway to save the time. For about thirty minutes later, we were out. But not arrived yet. We tried to find a store to buy some food and drink as our provisions. After we got them, we continued our trip to Boyolali. Well, it took approximately two hours to get there.
In the afternoon, we arrived and came in to one of my friend’s house first. There, we could take some rest and had lunch together. After that, according to the plan, we had to continue our trip to go to Tlatar. But, my friend’s mother asked us to take some fruit as gift. The fruit such as mangoes, rambutans and guava. It was out of our meant, but we accepted it. Of course, moreover, they could complete our provisions, right?.
After we got a lot of gift, we went to Tlatar, a special nature park and pond in Boyolali. The way to get there was really nice, we could see the fields and woods around us with the beautiful mountain behind them. Furthermore, we could feel the fresh air which was difficult to be found in Semarang. In Tlatar, we could swim and fishing. While some of us were swimming, the others were fishing or just enjoyed the view. We also ordered some food and drink.
The other and the last place we visited was Badhe Dam. It was big dam in Boyolali. We got there when it was getting afternoon around at five o’clock. Well, the situation there was really amazing. It was the right place to calm our self and mind. The beautiful dam with the blue sky were really a wonderful mixture of nature. We relaxed and felt calm. And did not forget to take pictures together.
At six, we realized that it was getting to dark, we had to back to Semarang. So, we decided to departed right away. We were very glad and enjoyed our trip together. We would never forget it.

My First Experience to be an alone backpacker

I like to go out to find a new place. When I was in second semester, I went to Bekasi alone to visit my friend. I built my strenght to go there without knowing anything. Firstly, I went to Terboyo to find Sinar Jaya bus to Bekasi. Unfortunately, there was no Sinar Jaya bus. A man in a locket told me to go to someone who could bring me to Bekasi. I felt so happy bacause my planning would be happen. I just payed money and got the bus. Everything was gone be alright until the bus came to Tegal. In Tegal bus station, a man in the bus asked me go out from the bus because that bus would bus come to Bandung.,not Jakarta ones. I felt so confused because there were so many strange men around me. After tehy talked for several hours, i was brought to a new one. I tried to adapt in that bus. People around me said that was true bus to Bekasi. I could not guess what I felt. The bus walked so fast until in Cikampek. When the bus was in Cikampek subway, someone told me that the bus did not pass Cikarang, so when I wanted to go tehre, I had to take off in Lippo. Fortunately, a man told me that he had the same destination with me. I felt so happy. I could not imagine if there was not that man.

In the evening, we had to check out from the hotel. We went back home bringing so many amazing memories of Bali.

A STUDY TOUR TO BALI

I was in senior high school when at the first time I went to Bali Island. I went there with my teachers and my friends. It was a study tour actually. My teacher, me class friends, and I were in the same bus. We left our school at 8 a.m.

The journey from Pati to Bali took a day. I was so exhausted because I had to sit along the journey. Actually, it was a funny journey because I spent all of my time with my friends, like playing games, laughing, and kidding. But I felt that all of my tiredness gone all of sudden when we arrived at the Sanur Beach. It was still morning, I saw a sun rise which was so beautiful. Then we were drove to the hotel to take a rest and had meals. After that, we went to the Nusa Dua Beach. There were so many activities to do there. We could play parasailing, banana boat, and so on. But I chose to go to a little island which had a lot of reptile there. There were snake, turtles, etc. The scenery was so beautiful because I was in the middle of the sea! Next, we went to Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK). There were two statues which were so big. They were Wisnu and his bird, called Garuda. I was interested in its relief on the rock but, actually, I did not know the story on it. At last, we went to the Sosro Company. We learned a lot of things there from the first step till the end of making a tea. After that, we went back to Pati.

After a very long journey, through the land and the sea, I learned something about nature and human products. Although it took a lot of my energy, I felt so happy because I spent all of my time with my friends.

MY BUSY HOLIDAY

On April 16th, 2010, I thought this would be a great holiday for me because that was the holy day for Hindhu people . I was so tired about the study, so I guessed this time I could get full refresh anyway. However, the fact said the other way.

First like an ordinary daughter, I had to get up early morning helping my mother, of course after I prayed. Then I did my chores, cleaned up my room, and spread out my bed under the sun ray. I was really in danger if my mom knew that my room was messy. So, I made it as soon as possible. Second, my aunts called me in the afternoon. I did not meet them for a long time, that was the way I kept for hours to talk with them. After that, unpredictable my neighbor visited me. She asked my help finishing her homework. At last, the time was running and I just remembered that I had a lot of homework. I got mad, confused and regretful why I did not check my homework before. Therefore, I did my homework until 2:00 a.m. the next morning.

I did not feel this was holiday instead of I had to work hard and got a long ship with my homework.

The Flood

One Christmas in 2007, I was joining a final test try out at school. It was held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. One of my schoolmates, Rini, asked me for accompanying her to the bus stop. When we arrived there, suddenly the heavy rain fell down from the sky. Rini suggested me to go home soon while she was entering the bus.
It was still raining when I was home. The rain did not stop and became bigger when the night had come. People were standing in front of their house, hoping that the flood would not come. In the middle of the night, I got news that South Purwodadi had been drowned.

The next day, Purwodadi had become a flood area. All activities were paralyzed. No one went for work or school because the land had been covered by flood. However, I thank God for not allowing the flood entered my house. Even my house had been changed into an emergency kitchen. It was so crowded there. I and my father took a walk around the center market and Central Purwodadi. All that we could see was water and water. At night, the flood looked like a beautiful ocean with the moonlight on it. I felt as if I was one of the passengers of Titanic who was sailing on the sea.

Finally, the flood was starting to decrease in the next morning. I and my family cleaned our front yard together. That was the greatest flood that I had ever experienced in my hometown.

My Unfortunates

Orientation
Last weekend was my luckiest day ever. Many good things were coming toward me.

Events
When the morning broke in Sunday morning, I woke up and planned to jog around the neighborhood. So I changed my clothes and went to the bathroom to wash my sleepy face. As I stepped in the bathroom, I landed my foot on a soap in the floor and feel down. A perfect morning hi for me. Next, I began my jogging and saw my gorgeous neighbor, jogging to. I though it was a good fortune to omit the gap between us. So I jogged to him and say hello. But, how poor of me, it was not him. It just someone I never met before who looked like to him. I was going home with people laugh at me along side of the street.

When I got home, the breakfast already settled and I immediately spooned a big portion of rice and ate. After I have done my breakfast my mother came up and said that the meal have not ready yet and she said that I may have a stomachache if I ate it. It was proven, I had a stomachache for the next three days.

Conclusion

I past my weekend lie down on me bed and be served as a queen. That was not really bad, wasn't it.
